Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the items listed below. Submissions that do not comply with the rules will be returned to the authors.

  • All articles submitted to RDC must have a title, a description of the Authors, an abstract, keywords, a body of text and bibliographic references.
  • The contribution must be original and unpublished and not under review or for publication in another journal.
  • The article must comply with ethical procedures relating to the preparation and publication of scientific works and must not violate current copyright legislation.
  • The text must follow the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Instructions for Authors, in the "About the Journal" section.
  • Submission files must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • All metadata (title, abstract, descriptors, areas of knowledge) must be in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
  • The Article Cover Letter for Submission must be completed.
  • The Declaration of Responsibility must be completed.
  • The Article and Author Contribution Form must be completed.
  • The Article Template must be completed.

Pre-Hospital Emergency Nursing Area

In this section, manuscripts that address research in the area of ​​Pre-Hospital Emergency Nursing must be submitted.

Emergency Nursing Area

Manuscripts that address research in the Emergency Nursing Area must be submitted in this section.

Intensive Care Nursing Area

In this section, manuscripts that address research in the area of ​​Intensive Care Nursing must be submitted.

Other Critical Patient Areas

All manuscripts that do not fall into the 3 main areas (Extra-Hospital Emergency, Urgency and Intensive Care) must be submitted to this section, as long as they reflect research on Critical Patients.

SPEDC holds the exclusive right to publish, distribute, assign, sell or license in physical, electronic or other media that may exist, all content submitted by authors and published.

Reproduction, even partial, of articles and illustrations without prior authorization from SPEDC is prohibited. Exceptions are made for the citation or transcription of small excerpts and/or figures, as long as the fundamental rules of authorial referencing are followed.
